Angelique Merasty

Angelique Merasty, a woodlands Cree who lived at Denare Beach, learned the art of birch bark biting from her grandmother. Her art is created when a carefully chosen sheet of bark is folded and bitten into. Angelique’s complex designs include birds, animal, insects and figure images.
